⁹So the king of Assyria listened to him^(A) and marched up to Damascus and captured it.^(B) He deported its people to Kir^(C) but put Rezin to death.

New International Version

⁹The king of Assyria complied by attacking Damascus^(A) and capturing it. He deported its inhabitants to Kir^(B) and put Rezin to death.

⁶Elam took up a quiver
with chariots and horsemen,^[a]
and Kir^(A) uncovered the shield.

⁶Elam^(A) takes up the quiver,^(B)
with her charioteers and horses;
Kir^(C) uncovers the shield.
