2 Kings 17:25-27
New Revised Standard Version, Anglicised Catholic Edition
25 When they first settled there, they did not worship the Lord; therefore the Lord sent lions among them, which killed some of them. 26 So the king of Assyria was told, ‘The nations that you have carried away and placed in the cities of Samaria do not know the law of the god of the land; therefore he has sent lions among them; they are killing them, because they do not know the law of the god of the land.’ 27 Then the king of Assyria commanded, ‘Send there one of the priests whom you carried away from there; let him[a] go and live there, and teach them the law of the god of the land.’

2 Kings 17:25-27
New International Version
25 When they first lived there, they did not worship the Lord; so he sent lions(A) among them and they killed some of the people. 26 It was reported to the king of Assyria: “The people you deported and resettled in the towns of Samaria do not know what the god of that country requires. He has sent lions among them, which are killing them off, because the people do not know what he requires.”
27 Then the king of Assyria gave this order: “Have one of the priests you took captive from Samaria go back to live there and teach the people what the god of the land requires.”
