13 Yet the Lord testified against Israel and against Judah, by all of His (A)prophets, (B)every seer, saying, (C)“Turn from your evil ways, and keep My commandments and My statutes, according to all the law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.” 14 Nevertheless they would not hear, but (D)stiffened their necks, like the necks of their fathers, who (E)did not believe in the Lord their God. 15 And they (F)rejected His statutes (G)and His covenant that He had made with their fathers, and His testimonies which He had testified against them; they followed (H)idols, (I)became idolaters, and went after the nations who were all around them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them that they should (J)not do like them.

13 Yet the Lord warned Israel and Judah through all His prophets and every seer, saying, “Turn from your evil ways and keep My commandments and My statutes, in accordance with all the Law which I commanded your fathers, and which I sent to you by My servants the prophets.” 14 However they did not listen, but stiffened their necks as did their fathers who did not believe (trust in, rely on, remain steadfast to) the Lord their God. 15 They rejected His statutes and His covenant which He made with their fathers, as well as His warnings that he gave them. And they followed vanity [that is, false gods, idols] and became vain (empty-headed). They followed the [pagan practices of the] nations which surrounded them, although the Lord had commanded that they were not to do as they did.

13 The Lord warned(A) Israel and Judah through all his prophets and seers:(B) “Turn from your evil ways.(C) Observe my commands and decrees, in accordance with the entire Law that I commanded your ancestors to obey and that I delivered to you through my servants the prophets.”(D)

14 But they would not listen and were as stiff-necked(E) as their ancestors, who did not trust in the Lord their God. 15 They rejected his decrees and the covenant(F) he had made with their ancestors and the statutes he had warned them to keep. They followed worthless idols(G) and themselves became worthless.(H) They imitated the nations(I) around them although the Lord had ordered them, “Do not do as they do.”

14 Notwithstanding they would not hear, but hardened their necks, like to the neck of their fathers, that did not believe in the Lord their God.

15 And they rejected his statutes, and his covenant that he made with their fathers, and his testimonies which he testified against them; and they followed vanity, and became vain, and went after the heathen that were round about them, concerning whom the Lord had charged them, that they should not do like them.
