(A)He did right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father David had done. (B)He removed the high places and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the [a]Asherah. He also broke in pieces (C)the bronze serpent that Moses had made, for until those days the sons of Israel burned incense to it; and it was called [b]Nehushtan. (D)He trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel; (E)so that after him there was none like him among all the kings of Judah, nor among those who were before him. For he (F)clung to the Lord; he did not depart from following Him, but kept His commandments, which the Lord had commanded Moses.

He broke into pieces the bronze snake(F) Moses had made, for up to that time the Israelites had been burning incense to it. (It was called Nehushtan.[a])

Hezekiah trusted(G) in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah, either before him or after him. He held fast(H) to the Lord and did not stop following him; he kept the commands the Lord had given Moses.
