¹⁴Hezekiah received the letter from the hand of the messengers and read it. And he went up into the house of the Lord and spread it before the Lord.^(A)

¹⁵And Hezekiah prayed: O Lord, the God of Israel, Who [in symbol] is enthroned above the cherubim [of the ark in the temple], You are the God, You alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made the heavens and the earth.

¹⁶Lord, bow down Your ear and hear; Lord, open Your eyes and see; hear the words of Sennacherib which he has sent to mock, reproach, insult, and defy the living God.

Hezekiah’s Prayer^(A)

¹⁴Hezekiah received the letter^(B) from the messengers and read it. Then he went up to the temple of the Lord and spread it out before the Lord. ¹⁵And Hezekiah prayed to the Lord: “Lord, the God of Israel, enthroned between the cherubim,^(C) you alone^(D) are God over all the kingdoms of the earth. You have made heaven and earth. ¹⁶Give ear,^(E) Lord, and hear;^(F) open your eyes,^(G) Lord, and see; listen to the words Sennacherib has sent to ridicule the living God.
