22 Who is it you mocked and blasphemed?(A)
Against whom have you raised your voice
and lifted your eyes in pride?
Against the Holy One of Israel!(B)
23 You have mocked the Lord[a] through[b] your messengers.(C)
You have said:
With my many chariots(D)
I have gone up to the heights of the mountains,
to the far recesses of Lebanon.
I cut down its tallest cedars,
its choice cypress trees.
I came to its farthest outpost,
its densest forest.

the utmost heights of Lebanon.

the choicest of its junipers.
I have reached its remotest parts,
the finest of its forests.

15 So now,(A) don’t let Hezekiah deceive you, and don’t let him mislead you like this. Don’t believe him, for no god of any nation or kingdom has been able to deliver his people from my power or the power of my fathers. How much less will your God deliver you from my power!’”
16 His servants said more against the Lord God and against His servant Hezekiah. 17 He also wrote letters to mock Yahweh, the God of Israel, saying against Him:
Just like the national gods of the lands that did not deliver their people from my power, so Hezekiah’s God will not deliver His people from my power.(B)

16 Sennacherib’s officers spoke further against the Lord God and against his servant Hezekiah. 17 The king also wrote letters(D) ridiculing(E) the Lord, the God of Israel, and saying this against him: “Just as the gods(F) of the peoples of the other lands did not rescue their people from my hand, so the god of Hezekiah will not rescue his people from my hand.”

He will exalt and magnify himself(A) above every god and will say unheard-of things(B) against the God of gods.(C) He will be successful until the time of wrath(D) is completed, for what has been determined must take place.(E) 37 He will show no regard for the gods of his ancestors or for the one desired by women, nor will he regard any god, but will exalt himself above them all.
