36 So (A)Sennacherib king of Assyria departed and returned home, and lived at (B)Nineveh. 37 It came about as he was worshiping in the house of Nisroch his god, that [a](C)Adrammelech and Sharezer killed him with the sword; and they escaped into (D)the land of Ararat. And (E)Esarhaddon his son became king in his place.

New International Version
36 So Sennacherib king of Assyria broke camp and withdrew.(A) He returned to Nineveh(B) and stayed there.
37 One day, while he was worshiping in the temple of his god Nisrok, his sons Adrammelek(C) and Sharezer killed him with the sword,(D) and they escaped to the land of Ararat.(E) And Esarhaddon(F) his son succeeded him as king.
