7 Look! I’m going to cause an attitude[a] to grow within him so that he’ll hear a rumor and return to his own territory, where I’ll make him die by the sword in his own land!”’”
Sennacherib Defies God(A)
8 So Rab-shakeh returned and found the king of Assyria at war with Libnah, because Rab-shakeh had heard that the king had left Lachish. 9 When he heard that it was being said about King Tirhakah of Ethiopia,[b] “Look! He has come out to attack you!” he again sent messengers to Hezekiah.

7 Listen! When he hears a certain report,(A) I will make him want to return to his own country, and there I will have him cut down with the sword.(B)’”
8 When the field commander heard that the king of Assyria had left Lachish,(C) he withdrew and found the king fighting against Libnah.(D)
9 Now Sennacherib received a report that Tirhakah, the king of Cush,[a] was marching out to fight against him. So he again sent messengers to Hezekiah with this word:
