¹⁷ ‘Behold, the days are coming when ^(A)everything that is in your house, and what your fathers have stored up to this day, will be carried to Babylon; nothing will be left,’ says the Lord. ¹⁸ ‘And some ^(B)of your sons who will come from you, whom you will father, will be taken away; and they will become ^(C)officials in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

Captivity in Babylon Begun

^10 (A)At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent men and had him brought to Babylon with the valuable articles of the house of the Lord; and he made his relative ^(B)Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

²¹ Yes, this is what the Lord of armies, the God of Israel, says concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem: ²² “They will be ^(A)brought to Babylon and will be there until the ^(B)day I visit them,” declares the Lord. “Then I will ^(C)bring them ^[a]back and restore them to this place.”’”
