¹⁷ ‘Behold, the days are coming when ^(A)all that is in your house, and all that your fathers have laid up in store to this day will be carried to Babylon; nothing shall be left,’ says the Lord. ¹⁸ ‘Some ^(B)of your sons who shall issue from you, whom you will beget, will be taken away; and they will become ^(C)officials in the palace of the king of Babylon.’”

Captivity in Babylon Begun

^10 (A)At the turn of the year King Nebuchadnezzar sent and brought him to Babylon with the valuable articles of the house of the Lord, and he made his kinsman ^(B)Zedekiah king over Judah and Jerusalem.

²¹ Yes, thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, concerning the vessels that are left in the house of the Lord and in the house of the king of Judah and in Jerusalem, ²² ‘They will be ^(A)carried to Babylon and they will be there until the ^(B)day I visit them,’ declares the Lord. ‘Then I will ^(C)bring them ^[a]back and restore them to this place.’”
