² He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight,^(A) imitating the detestable practices of the nations that the Lord had dispossessed before the Israelites.^(B)

⁶ He made his son pass through the fire,^(A) practiced witchcraft and divination, and consulted mediums and spiritists.^(B) He did a great amount of evil in the Lord’s sight, provoking Him.^(C)

³⁰ “For the Judeans have done what is evil in My sight.” This is the Lord’s declaration. “They have set up their detestable things^(A) in the house that is called by My name and defiled it.^(B)
