¹² And the altars ^(A)on the roof of the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars ^(B)that Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord, he pulled down and broke in pieces^[a] and cast the dust of them ^(C)into the brook Kidron.

¹³ The houses of Jerusalem and the houses of the kings of Judah—^(A)all the houses on whose ^(B)roofs offerings have been offered ^(C)to all the host of heaven, and ^(D)drink offerings have been poured out to other gods—shall be defiled ^(E)like the place of Topheth.’”

²⁹ The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city ^(A)shall come and set this city on fire and burn it, ^(B)with the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal ^(C)and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, ^(D)to provoke me to anger.

²⁵ And when they came down from the high place into the city, a bed was spread for Saul^{[a] (A)}on the roof, and he lay down to sleep.
