⁴ Then a breach was made in the city, and all the men of war fled by night by the way of the gate between the two walls, by ^(A)the king's garden, and ^(B)the Chaldeans were around the city. And they went in the direction of the ^(C)Arabah.

²⁸ Therefore, thus says the Lord: ^(A)Behold, I am giving this city into the hands of the Chaldeans and into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and he shall capture it. ²⁹ The Chaldeans who are fighting against this city ^(B)shall come and set this city on fire and burn it, ^(C)with the houses on whose roofs offerings have been made to Baal ^(D)and drink offerings have been poured out to other gods, ^(E)to provoke me to anger.

¹¹ But ^(A)when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up against the land, we said, ‘Come, and let us go to Jerusalem for fear of ^(B)the army of the Chaldeans and ^(C)the army of the Syrians.’ ^(D)So we are living in Jerusalem.”
