(A)Then the city was broken into, and all the men of war fled by night by way of the gate between the two walls beside (B)the king’s garden, though the Chaldeans were all around the city. And [a]they went by way of the Arabah. But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook him in the plains of Jericho and all his army was scattered from him. Then (C)they captured the king and (D)brought him to the king of Babylon at (E)Riblah, and [b]he passed sentence on him. (F)They slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, then (G)put out the eyes of Zedekiah and bound him with bronze fetters and brought him to Babylon.

Then the (F)king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah (G)before his eyes at Riblah; the king of Babylon also slew all the (H)nobles of Judah. He then (I)blinded Zedekiah’s eyes and bound him in (J)fetters of bronze to bring him to (K)Babylon.
