²²Now it happened, when Joram saw Jehu, that he said, “Is it peace, Jehu?”

So he answered, “What peace, as long as the harlotries of your mother Jezebel and her witchcraft are so many?”

²³Then Joram turned around and fled, and said to Ahaziah, “Treachery, Ahaziah!” ²⁴Now Jehu ^[a]drew his bow with full strength and shot Jehoram between his arms; and the arrow came out at his heart, and he sank down in his chariot.

“How can there be peace,” Jehu replied, “as long as all the idolatry and witchcraft of your mother Jezebel^(A) abound?”

²³Joram turned about and fled, calling out to Ahaziah, “Treachery,^(B) Ahaziah!”

²⁴Then Jehu drew his bow^(C) and shot Joram between the shoulders. The arrow pierced his heart and he slumped down in his chariot.

²⁴And Jehu drew a bow with his full strength, and smote Jehoram between his arms, and the arrow went out at his heart, and he sunk down in his chariot.
