2 Peter 3:9-11

9 The Lord is not slow about his promise as some count slowness, but is forbearing toward you,[a] not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance. 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and the works that are upon it will be burned up.
11 Since all these things are thus to be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in lives of holiness and godliness,

New International Version
9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,(A) as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient(B) with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.(C)
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief.(D) The heavens will disappear with a roar;(E) the elements will be destroyed by fire,(F) and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.[a](G)
11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives
