⁷When Uriah came to him, David asked him how Joab was, how the soldiers were and how the war was going.

⁷Get ready to answer Me like a man;
When I question^(A) you, you will inform Me.

⁷“Brace yourself like a man;
I will question you,
and you shall answer me.^(A)

⁴You said, “Listen now, and I will speak.
When I question^(A) you, you will inform Me.”

⁴“You said, ‘Listen now, and I will speak;
I will question you,
