Nathan Rebukes David^(A)

12 The Lord sent Nathan^(B) to David.^(C) When he came to him,^(D) he said, “There were two men in a certain town, one rich and the other poor.

²⁵ and because the Lord loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.^[a](A)

⁸ But Zadok^(A) the priest, Benaiah^(B) son of Jehoiada, Nathan^(C) the prophet, Shimei^(D) and Rei and David’s special guard^(E) did not join Adonijah.

¹⁰ but he did not invite^(A) Nathan the prophet or Benaiah or the special guard or his brother Solomon.^(B)
