24 Then David consoled Bathsheba his wife. He went and slept with her; and she conceived and bore him a son, who was named Solomon. The Lord loved him 25 and sent the prophet Nathan to name him Jedidiah,[a] on behalf of the Lord.

New International Version
24 Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba,(A) and he went to her and made love to her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon.(B) The Lord loved him; 25 and because the Lord loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.[a](C)
26 Meanwhile Joab fought against Rabbah(D) of the Ammonites and captured the royal citadel.
