Solomon Is Born
24 Then David consoled his wife Bathsheba, and went to her, and lay with her; and she bore a son, and he named him Solomon. The Lord loved him, 25 and sent a message by the prophet Nathan; so he named him Jedidiah,[a] because of the Lord.
The Ammonites Crushed
26 Now Joab fought against Rabbah of the Ammonites, and took the royal city.

New International Version
24 Then David comforted his wife Bathsheba,(A) and he went to her and made love to her. She gave birth to a son, and they named him Solomon.(B) The Lord loved him; 25 and because the Lord loved him, he sent word through Nathan the prophet to name him Jedidiah.[a](C)
26 Meanwhile Joab fought against Rabbah(D) of the Ammonites and captured the royal citadel.
