War Again

26 (A)Now Joab fought against (B)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon and captured the royal city. 27 Joab sent messengers to David and said, “I have fought against Rabbah, I have even captured the city of waters. 28 Now therefore, gather the rest of the people together and camp against the city and capture it, or I will capture the city myself and it will be named after me.” 29 So David gathered all the people and went to Rabbah, fought against it and captured it.

“Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“That I will cause a [a](A)trumpet blast of war to be heard
Against (B)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon;
And it will become a desolate heap,
And her (C)towns will be set on fire.
Then Israel will take (D)possession of his possessors,”
Says the Lord.
“Wail, O (E)Heshbon, for (F)Ai has been destroyed!
Cry out, O daughters of Rabbah,
(G)Gird yourselves with sackcloth and lament,
And rush back and forth inside the walls;
For [b]Malcam will (H)go into exile
Together with his priests and his princes.
