11 Now two hundred men went with Absalom from Jerusalem, (A)who were invited and (B)went [a]innocently, and they did not know anything. 12 And Absalom sent for (C)Ahithophel the Gilonite, David’s counselor, from his city (D)Giloh, while he was offering the sacrifices. And the conspiracy was strong, for (E)the people increased continually with Absalom.

13 Then an informant came to David, saying, “(F)The hearts of the men of Israel [b]have followed Absalom.”

New International Version
11 Two hundred men from Jerusalem had accompanied Absalom. They had been invited as guests and went quite innocently, knowing nothing about the matter. 12 While Absalom was offering sacrifices, he also sent for Ahithophel(A) the Gilonite, David’s counselor,(B) to come from Giloh,(C) his hometown. And so the conspiracy gained strength, and Absalom’s following kept on increasing.(D)

13 A messenger came and told David, “The hearts of the people of Israel are with Absalom.”
