Amplified Bible
22 Then David and all the people who were with him departed and crossed over the Jordan. By daybreak, not even one was left who had not crossed the Jordan.
23 Now when Ahithophel saw that his advice had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out and went to his home, to his city. Then he put his household in order, and hanged himself. So he died and was buried in the tomb of his father.
24 Then David came to Mahanaim. And Absalom crossed over the Jordan, he and all the men of Israel with him.

New International Version
22 So David and all the people with him set out and crossed the Jordan. By daybreak, no one was left who had not crossed the Jordan.
23 When Ahithophel saw that his advice(A) had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He put his house in order(B) and then hanged himself. So he died and was buried in his father’s tomb.
Absalom’s Death
24 David went to Mahanaim,(C) and Absalom crossed the Jordan with all the men of Israel.
