New Century Version
22 So David and all his people crossed the Jordan River. By dawn, everyone had crossed the Jordan.
23 When Ahithophel saw that the Israelites did not accept his advice, he saddled his donkey and went to his hometown. He left orders for his family and property, and then he hanged himself. He died and was buried in his father’s tomb.

24 David arrived at Mahanaim. And Absalom and all his Israelites crossed over the Jordan River.

New International Version
22 So David and all the people with him set out and crossed the Jordan. By daybreak, no one was left who had not crossed the Jordan.
23 When Ahithophel saw that his advice(A) had not been followed, he saddled his donkey and set out for his house in his hometown. He put his house in order(B) and then hanged himself. So he died and was buried in his father’s tomb.
Absalom’s Death
24 David went to Mahanaim,(C) and Absalom crossed the Jordan with all the men of Israel.
