43 But the men of Israel answered the men of Judah and said, “[a](A)We have ten parts in the king, therefore [b]we also have more claim on David than you. Why then did you treat us with contempt? Was it not [c]our advice first to bring back [d]our king?” Yet the words of the men of Judah were harsher than the words of the men of Israel.

16 When all Israel saw that the king did not listen to them, the people answered the king, saying,
“What portion do we have in David?
We have no inheritance in the son of Jesse;
(A)To your tents, O Israel!
Now look after your own house, David!”
So Israel departed to their tents.
