And came to the fortress of [a]Tyre and to all the cities of the Hivites and of the Canaanites, and went toward the South of Judah, even to Beersheba.

¶ So when they had gone about all the land, they returned to Jerusalem at the end of nine months and twenty days.

¶ And Joab delivered the number and sum of the people unto the King: and there were in Israel [b]eight hundred thousand strong men that drew swords, and the men of Judah were [c]five hundred thousand men.
