¹³ Meanwhile ^(A)David took more concubines and wives from Jerusalem, after he came from Hebron; and more sons and daughters were born to David.

¹¹ This is what the Lord says: ‘Behold, I am going to raise up evil against you from your own household; ^(A)I will even take your wives before your eyes and give them to your companion, and he will sleep with your wives in ^[a]broad daylight.

^3 (A)He had seven hundred wives, who were ^[a]princesses, and three hundred concubines; and his wives turned his heart away. ⁴ For when Solomon was old, his wives turned his heart away ^[b]to follow other gods; and ^(B)his heart was not ^[c]wholly devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of his father David had been.
