The Ark Is Brought to Jerusalem

12 Now it was told King David, saying, “The Lord has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him, on account of the ark of God.” (A)David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-edom into (B)the city of David with gladness. 13 And so it was, that when the (C)bearers of the ark of the Lord had gone six paces, he sacrificed an (D)ox and a fatling. 14 And (E)David was dancing before the Lord with all his might, and David was [a](F)wearing a linen ephod. 15 So David and all the house of Israel were bringing up the ark of the Lord with shouting and the sound of the trumpet.

16 Then it happened as the ark of the Lord came into the city of David that (G)Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and dancing before the Lord; and she despised him in her heart.

25 (A)So it was David, with the elders of Israel and the captains over thousands, who went to bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord from (B)the house of Obed-edom with joy. 26 Because God was helping the Levites who were carrying the ark of the covenant of the Lord, they sacrificed (C)seven bulls and seven rams. 27 Now David was clothed with a robe of fine linen with all the Levites who were carrying the ark, and the singers and Chenaniah the leader of the singing with the singers. (D)David also wore an ephod of linen. 28 Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the Lord with shouting, and with sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud-sounding cymbals, with harps and lyres.

29 It happened when the ark of the covenant of the Lord came to the city of David, that (E)Michal the daughter of Saul looked out of the window and saw King David leaping and celebrating; and she despised him in her heart.
