2 (A)Awo waaliwo omuddu mu nnyumba ya Sawulo erinnya lye Ziba. Ne bamutumya, n’ajja mu maaso ga Dawudi.
Kabaka n’amubuuza nti, “Ggwe Ziba?” N’addamu nti, “Nze wuuyo omuddu wo.”

16 (A)Awo Dawudi bwe yali ng’atambuddeko ebbanga ttono n’okuva awaali olusiisira, Ziba omuddu wa Mefibosesi n’ajja okumusisinkana. Yalina endogoyi bbiri eziriko amatandiiko, nga zeetisse emigaati ebikumi bibiri, n’ebirimba eby’ezabbibu enkalu kikumi, n’ebirimba eby’ebibala eby’ekyeya kikumi, n’ekita kya wayini. 2 (B)Kabaka n’abuuza Ziba nti, “Bino oleese bya ki?” Ziba n’addamu nti, “Endogoyi za ba mu nnyumba ya kabaka okwebagalanga, n’emigaati n’ebibala bya bavubuka okulya, ne wayini, w’abo abaliyongobera mu ddungu.”

16 When David had gone a short distance beyond the summit, there was Ziba,(A) the steward of Mephibosheth, waiting to meet him. He had a string of donkeys saddled and loaded with two hundred loaves of bread, a hundred cakes of raisins, a hundred cakes of figs and a skin of wine.(B)
2 The king asked Ziba, “Why have you brought these?”
Ziba answered, “The donkeys are for the king’s household to ride on, the bread and fruit are for the men to eat, and the wine is to refresh(C) those who become exhausted in the wilderness.”
