⁸ nor did we ^(A)eat ^[a]anyone’s bread ^[b]without paying for it, but with ^(B)labor and hardship we kept ^(C)working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; ⁹ not because we do not have ^(D)the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves ^(E)as a role model for you, so that you would ^[c]follow our example.

¹⁸ What, then, is my ^(A)reward? That, when I preach the gospel, I may offer the gospel ^(B)without charge, so as ^(C)not to make full use of my right in the gospel.

¹⁷ For we are not like the many, ^[a](A)peddling the word of God, but ^(B)as from sincerity, but as from God, we speak in Christ ^(C)in the sight of God.
