New King James Version
8 nor did we eat anyone’s bread [a]free of charge, but worked with (A)labor and toil night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, 9 not because we do not have (B)authority, but to make ourselves an example of how you should follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: If anyone will not work, neither shall he eat.

8 nor did we (A)eat [a]anyone’s bread [b]without paying for it, but with (B)labor and hardship we kept (C)working night and day so that we would not be a burden to any of you; 9 not because we do not have (D)the right to this, but in order to offer ourselves (E)as a role model for you, so that you would [c]follow our example. 10 For even (F)when we were with you, we used to give you this order: (G)if anyone is not willing to work, then he is not to eat, either.

9 Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
