2 What you have heard me say in front of many people, you must teach to faithful men. Then they will be able to teach others also. 3 Take your share of suffering as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No soldier fighting in a war can take time to make a living. He must please the one who made him a soldier.

2 And the things you have heard me say(A) in the presence of many witnesses(B) entrust to reliable people who will also be qualified to teach others. 3 Join with me in suffering,(C) like a good soldier(D) of Christ Jesus. 4 No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.
