^16 (A)All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, ¹⁷ that ^(B)the man of God^[a] may be complete, ^(C)equipped ^(D)for every good work.

¹⁹ And ^(A)we have the prophetic word more fully confirmed, to which you will do well to pay attention ^(B)as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until ^(C)the day ^(D)dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts, ²⁰ knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone's own interpretation.

¹⁷ So ^(A)faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.

¹⁰ these things ^(A)God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even ^(B)the depths of God. ¹¹ For who knows a person's thoughts ^(C)except the spirit of that person, which is in him? So also no one comprehends the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God. ¹² Now ^(D)we have received not ^(E)the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given us by God.

The Supremacy of God's Son

1 Long ago, at many times and ^(A)in many ways, God spoke to our fathers by the prophets, ² but ^(B)in these last days ^(C)he has spoken to us by ^(D)his Son, whom he appointed ^(E)the heir of all things, ^(F)through whom also he created ^(G)the world.
