6 For (A)of this sort are those who creep into households and make captives of gullible women loaded down with sins, led away by various lusts, 7 always learning and never able (B)to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 (C)Now as Jannes and Jambres resisted Moses, so do these also resist the truth: (D)men of corrupt minds, (E)disapproved concerning the faith; 9 but they will progress no further, for their folly will be manifest to all, (F)as theirs also was.

6 For among them are those who worm their way into homes and captivate morally weak and spiritually-dwarfed women weighed down by [the burden of their] sins, easily swayed by various impulses, 7 always learning and listening to anybody who will teach them, but never able to come to the knowledge of the truth. 8 Just as Jannes and Jambres [the court magicians of Egypt] opposed Moses, so these men also oppose the truth, men of depraved mind, unqualified and worthless [as teachers] in regard to the faith.(A) 9 But they will not get very far, for their meaningless nonsense and ignorance will become obvious to everyone, as was that of Jannes and Jambres.

They are men of depraved minds,(E) who, as far as the faith is concerned, are rejected. 9 But they will not get very far because, as in the case of those men,(F) their folly will be clear to everyone.
