⁵ The Lord afflicted the king, and he had a serious skin disease until the day of his death.^(A) He lived in a separate house,^[a](B) while Jotham,^(C) the king’s son, was over the household governing the people of the land.^(D)

³⁸ Jotham rested with his fathers and was buried with his fathers in the city of his ancestor David.^(A) His son Ahaz became king in his place.

²⁰ Ahaz rested with his fathers^(A) and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and his son Hezekiah became king in his place.

²¹ Hezekiah rested with his fathers, and his son Manasseh became king in his place.^(A)

¹⁸ Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, the garden of Uzza. His son Amon became king in his place.

²⁴ Then the common people^[a] executed^(A) all those who had conspired against King Amon and made his son Josiah^(B) king in his place.
