¹⁰ For forty years I was disgusted with that generation;
I said, “They are a people whose hearts go astray;
they do not know my ways.”^(A)

³ The ox knows its owner,
and the donkey its master’s feeding trough,
but Israel does not know;
my people do not understand.”^(A)

²² “For my people are fools;
they do not know me.
They are foolish children,
without understanding.^(A)
They are skilled in doing what is evil,
but they do not know how to do what is good.”^(B)

They are just the poor;
they have been foolish.
For they don’t understand the way of the Lord,^(A)
the justice of their God.^(B)
