¹⁵ So ^(A)he led Jehoiachin into exile to Babylon; also the king’s mother, the king’s wives, and his officials and the leading men of the land, he led into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon. ¹⁶ And all the valiant men, ^(B)seven thousand, and the craftsmen and the smiths, a thousand, all strong and fit for war, these too the king of Babylon brought into exile to Babylon.

⁷ Then afterward,” declares the Lord, “^(A)I will hand Zedekiah king of Judah, his servants, and the people, that is, those who survive in this city from the plague, the sword, and the famine, over to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, to their enemies, and to those who seek their lives; and he will strike and kill them with the edge of the sword. He ^(B)will not spare them nor have pity nor compassion.”’

²⁰ I will hand them over to their enemies and to those who ^(A)seek their lives. And their ^(B)dead bodies will be food for the birds of the sky and the animals of the earth. ^21 (C)Zedekiah king of Judah and his officials I will also hand over to their enemies and to those who seek their lives, and to the army of the king of Babylon which has ^(D)withdrawn from you.
