Moab’s Rebellion against Israel

⁴ King Mesha of Moab^(A) was a sheep breeder. He used to pay^(B) the king of Israel 100,000 lambs and the wool of 100,000 rams,^(C)

¹⁴ So Amos answered Amaziah, “I was^[a] not a prophet or the son of a prophet;^[b](A) rather, I was^[c] a herdsman,^(B) and I took care of sycamore figs. ¹⁵ But the Lord took me from following the flock^(C) and said to me, ‘Go, prophesy to My people Israel.’”^(D)
