¹⁶ So Jehu rode in a chariot and went to Jezreel, for Joram was laid up there; ^(A)and Ahaziah king of Judah had come down to see Joram.

^6 (A)Then he returned to Jezreel to recover from the wounds which he had received at Ramah, when he fought against Hazael king of Syria. And ^[a]Azariah the son of Jehoram, king of Judah, went down to see Jehoram the son of Ahab in Jezreel, because he was sick.

⁷ His going to Joram ^(A)was God’s occasion for Ahaziah’s ^[a]downfall; for when he arrived, ^(B)he went out with ^[b]Jehoram against Jehu the son of Nimshi, ^(C)whom the Lord had anointed to ^[c]cut off the house of Ahab.
