26 (A)Now Joab fought against (B)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon, and captured the royal city. 27 Then Joab sent messengers to David and said, “I have fought against Rabbah, I have even captured the city of waters. 28 Now then, gather the rest of the people and camp opposite the city and capture it, or I will capture the city myself and it will be named after me.” 29 So David gathered all the people and went to Rabbah, and he fought against it and captured it.

Therefore behold, the days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“When I will cause an alarm of (A)war to be heard
Against (B)Rabbah of the sons of Ammon;
And it will become a desolate heap,
And her (C)towns will be set on fire.
Then Israel will take (D)possession of his possessors,”
Says the Lord.
“Wail, (E)Heshbon, for (F)Ai has been destroyed!
Cry out, daughters of Rabbah,
(G)Put on sackcloth and mourn,
And move about inside the walls;
For [a]Malcam will (H)go into exile
Together with his priests and his leaders.
