⁵ Meanwhile, David and all the house of Israel ^(A)were celebrating before the Lord ^(B)with all kinds of instruments made of juniper wood, and with ^[a]lyres, harps, tambourines, castanets, and cymbals.

⁸ David and all Israel were celebrating before God with all their might, ^(A)with songs and with lyres, harps, tambourines, cymbals, and trumpets.

¹⁶ Then David spoke to the chiefs of the Levites ^(A)to appoint their relatives as the singers, with musical instruments, harps, lyres, and cymbals, playing to raise sounds of joy.

¹⁰ Now when the builders had ^(A)laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, ^[a]the priests stood in their apparel with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord ^(B)according to the ^[b]directions of King David of Israel.

Dedication of the Wall

²⁷ Now at the dedication of the wall of Jerusalem they sought out the Levites from all their places, to bring them to Jerusalem so that they could celebrate the dedication with joy, with songs of thanksgiving and with songs ^(A)to the accompaniment of cymbals, harps, and lyres.
