⁶ Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became David’s servants, and brought tribute. So ^(A)the Lord preserved David wherever he went.

²⁴ So he gathered men to him and became captain over a band of raiders, ^(A)when David killed those of Zobah. And they went to Damascus and dwelt there, and reigned in Damascus.

³ And Solomon went to Hamath Zobah and seized it.
