⁷ King Joash therefore summoned Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and he said to them, “Why have you not repaired the damage in the temple? Take no more money from the treasurers; hand it over for the repair of the temple.”

⁸ The priests agreed that they would take no more money from the people and that they, themselves, would not repair the damage in the temple.
