²⁸ One of them, named ^(A)Agabus, stood up and ^[a]indicated ^[b]by the Spirit that there would definitely be a severe famine ^(B)all over the ^[c]world. ^[d]And this took place in the reign of ^(C)Claudius.

⁸ First, ^(A)I thank my God through Jesus Christ ^[a]for you all, because ^(B)your faith is being proclaimed throughout the world.

¹⁸ But I say, surely they have never heard, have they? On the contrary:

^25 (A)Now to Him who is able to establish you ^(B)according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of ^(C)the mystery which has been kept secret for ^(D)long ages past, ²⁶ but now has been disclosed, and through ^(E)the Scriptures of the prophets, in accordance with the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to ^(F)obedience of faith;

⁵ because of the ^(A)hope ^(B)reserved for you in ^[a]heaven, of which you previously ^(C)heard in the word of truth, ^[b]the gospel ⁶ which has come to you, just as ^[c](D)in all the world also it is bearing ^(E)fruit and ^[d]increasing, even as it has been doing in you also since the day you ^(F)heard it and ^[e]understood the grace of God in truth;
