18 and for about forty years he endured their conduct in the desert.
19 “After he had destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan, he gave their land to his people as their inheritance 20 at the end of about four hundred and fifty years.[a] After that, he appointed judges for them until the time of the prophet Samuel.

18 for about forty years he endured their conduct[a](A) in the wilderness;(B) 19 and he overthrew seven nations in Canaan,(C) giving their land to his people(D) as their inheritance.(E) 20 All this took about 450 years.
