19 (A) He destroyed seven nations in the land of Canaan and gave their land to our people. 20 (B) All this happened in about 450 years.
Then God gave our people judges until the time of the prophet Samuel, 21 (C) but the people demanded a king. So for 40 years God gave them King Saul, the son of Kish from the tribe of Benjamin.

19 and he overthrew seven nations in Canaan,(A) giving their land to his people(B) as their inheritance.(C) 20 All this took about 450 years.
“After this, God gave them judges(D) until the time of Samuel the prophet.(E) 21 Then the people asked for a king,(F) and he gave them Saul(G) son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin,(H) who ruled forty years.
