21 “Then they asked for a king, and God gave them Saul, son of Kish, a man from the tribe of Benjamin. He reigned for forty years, 22 after which God removed him and raised up David as their king. In commending him, he said, ‘I have found David, the son of Jesse, to be a man after my own heart. He will carry out my every wish.’
23 “From this man’s descendants, God has fulfilled his promise by raising up for Israel a savior, Jesus.

21 Then the people asked for a king,(A) and he gave them Saul(B) son of Kish, of the tribe of Benjamin,(C) who ruled forty years. 22 After removing Saul,(D) he made David their king.(E) God testified concerning him: ‘I have found David son of Jesse, a man after my own heart;(F) he will do everything I want him to do.’(G)
23 “From this man’s descendants(H) God has brought to Israel the Savior(I) Jesus,(J) as he promised.(K)
