45 But when the Jews saw the multitudes, they were filled with envy; and contradicting and blaspheming, they (A)opposed the things spoken by Paul. 46 Then Paul and Barnabas grew bold and said, (B)“It was necessary that the word of God should be spoken to you first; but (C)since you reject it, and judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life, behold, (D)we turn to the Gentiles. 47 For so the Lord has commanded us:
(E)‘I have set you as a light to the Gentiles,
That you should be for salvation to the ends of the earth.’ ”

45 When the Jews saw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy. They began to contradict what Paul was saying(A) and heaped abuse(B) on him.
46 Then Paul and Barnabas answered them boldly: “We had to speak the word of God to you first.(C) Since you reject it and do not consider yourselves worthy of eternal life, we now turn to the Gentiles.(D) 47 For this is what the Lord has commanded us:
