When they reached Salamis, they began to proclaim the word of God in (A)the synagogues of the Jews; and they also had (B)John as their helper. When they had gone through the whole island as far as Paphos, they found a (C)magician, a Jewish (D)false prophet whose name was Bar-Jesus, who was with the (E)proconsul, Sergius Paulus, a man of intelligence. When they arrived at Salamis, they proclaimed the word of God(A) in the Jewish synagogues.(B) John(C) was with them as their helper.

They traveled through the whole island until they came to Paphos. There they met a Jewish sorcerer(D) and false prophet(E) named Bar-Jesus, who was an attendant of the proconsul,(F) Sergius Paulus. The proconsul, an intelligent man, sent for Barnabas and Saul because he wanted to hear the word of God.
