11 Then we set sail from Troas, and with a straight course went to Samothrace, and the next day to Neapolis, 12 and from there to Philippi, which is the chief city in the parts of Macedonia, and a Roman colony.
We were in that city for several days. 13 And on the Sabbath days we went out of the city, beside a river where people were accustomed to pray. And we sat down and spoke to the women who gathered there.

Lydia’s Conversion in Philippi
11 From Troas(A) we put out to sea and sailed straight for Samothrace, and the next day we went on to Neapolis. 12 From there we traveled to Philippi,(B) a Roman colony and the leading city of that district[a] of Macedonia.(C) And we stayed there several days.
13 On the Sabbath(D) we went outside the city gate to the river, where we expected to find a place of prayer. We sat down and began to speak to the women who had gathered there.
